Guide: Connecting iPhone with Garmin Fenix and Strava

This guide explains step by step how to connect your Garmin Fenix (from version 7) with your iPhone and automatically send your activities to Strava.


🪄 What you need

  • An iPhone with internet connection
  • A Garmin Fenix from version 7
  • The Garmin Connect app (free in the App Store)
  • A free Strava account

🔗 Step 1: Install Garmin Connect

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone.
  2. Search for Garmin Connect.
  3. Download the app and open it.
  4. Sign in with your Garmin account or create a new account.

⌚ Step 2: Pair Garmin Fenix

  1. Turn on your Garmin Fenix.
  2. Open Garmin Connect on the iPhone.
  3. Tap on More (the three dots at the bottom right).
  4. Select Garmin Devices → Add Device.
  5. Choose your Fenix 7 (or higher) from the list.
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen.
    • Make sure Bluetooth is activated on the iPhone.
  7. If a code is displayed on the watch, enter it in the app.
  8. After a short time, your watch is connected. ✅

⚙️ Step 3: Set up automatic synchronization with Strava

  1. Open Garmin Connect on the iPhone.
  2. Tap at the bottom right on More → Settings → Connected Apps.
  3. Select Strava from the list.
  4. Tap on Connect.
  5. Sign in with your Strava account.
  6. Allow Garmin to share your activities.
  7. Done! Your activities will now automatically synchronize with Strava. 🚴‍♀️🏃‍♂️

🔄 Step 4: Test

  1. Start a short activity (e.g., walking or running).
  2. End the activity and synchronize your watch.
  3. Open Strava – your track should appear automatically.

💡 Tips

  • If synchronization doesn't work:

    • Open Garmin Connect and wait a few seconds.
    • Check if Bluetooth is active.
    • Restart the iPhone and the watch.
  • You can also manually synchronize your data by pulling down in the Garmin Connect app.

Your Garmin Fenix is now connected with your iPhone, and all activities will be automatically transferred to Strava.
